Volunteers from whole Georgia and social media joined project #BorjomiSupporterOfnature.
With the initiative of IDS Borjomi Georgia, 1000 saplings of oak, maple, and pine trees were planted in Borjomi. The event was held on Earth Day and its aim was to restore forest cover in Borjomi Plato territory and active involvement of society in this campaign.
The project also moved into social networks and caused positive feedback from Facebook users. With help of #BorjomiSupperterOfNature application, Facebook users virtually joined the project, changed the profile photo and expressed support for the protection of nature and green cover.
Minister of Environment Protection and Natural Resources Gigla Agulashvili and representatives of the Ministry took part in tree planting campaign, along with journalists, celebrities, Borjomi Training Center students, and Borjomi Bottling Factories’ employees. Campaign was joined by volunteers from whole Georgia.
